Meet our two warriors, Silas and Ezekiel! These two are brothers who are both facing a rare neuromuscular disorder, Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome. It only affects 1:500,000. Silas was very sick his first year of life, battling for his life multiple times. Their gene mutations make viral illness more intense and complicated than typical kids, requiring multiple hospitalizations throughout their lives. Silas has a moderate to severe hearing loss and was just able to have surgery for bone anchored hearing aids. Ezekiel’s vision is impacted and complicated by the disorder. One thing’s for sure - both are incredibly resilient and love having each other (and their other 3 siblings!). They love Minecraft, Legos, Star Wars and the Georgia Bulldogs!
